The holidays are here, and we’re bringing you two limited edition releases that’ll be around just for the season.
Angry Santa and Evil Snowman were inspired by what happened to Rick Rodriguez on Christmas 1969. We’re not going to tell you the story now, but we will be posting it in the coming weeks. So come back to check it out.
The cigars themselves are tweaks on our award winning La Traviata. We used the same wrappers as La Traviata (Angry Santa is the Natural, Evil Snowman the Maduro), but we selected leaves from higher primings. And we modified the blends too, choosing tobacco from different origins to create slightly spicier, more complex flavors.
Check out the specs below, and make sure you pick up the cigars at a tobacconist near you before the holidays are over.
W: Ecuador Habano
F: Honduran, Nicaraguan

We’re pretty excited here at CAO. Flathead is hitting shelves, getting a great response and earning a lot of awesome reviews.
And I guess you could say we’re a bit like proud parents–we just have to share some of the nice things people are saying about the cigar. Here are some of our favorites:
–“Flathead is a wonderful, balanced blend that has plenty of body… If you haven’t gotten around to trying Flathead yet, you’re missing out. Verdict = Buy.” – stogieguys.com
–“The guys over at CAO did a great job coming up with an original concept and identity for the Flathead… The CAO Flathead gets an easy A grade and my full recommendation. Do yourself a favor and take the Flathead out for a spin, these are the real deal.” – bestcigarprices.com
–“There are a times when a cigar blows you away and this was one of those times… With great strength and body levels from beginning to end this is a cigar that is great to end the evening with. I am giving this cigar a solid 91 right now.” – sethshumidor.com
–“My favorites of the extensive CAO portfolio were Brazilia and La Traviata; however, the Flathead has now clearly taken first position. This is quite an enjoyable smoke. 4 stars” – smokeasy.net
–“The packaging is great, the idea is great and the cigar is great. I’d say they have a hit on their hands.” – stogiesontherocks.com
–“My recommendation: keep this one well stocked in The Humidor.” – thehumidorblog.com
–“I spoke with another local retailer on the plane back [from IPCPR], and he couldn’t say enough good things about the CAO Flathead. He lit it up and loved it.. Who doesn’t love cars, cigars and retro pin-up girls?” – stogiereview.com
Thanks to everyone for the reviews. Have you tried Flathead? Leave a comment and let us know what you think.
Rick and I travel all over the country for our CAO events. We noticed that no matter where we are, the conversations with our fans with the people we meet usually gravitate to three things: cigars, cars and girls. Not necessarily in that order.
That’s how we got the idea for CAO Flathead, our new smoke that has all three.
The cigar is a box-pressed collection that’s hand-shaped for a distinctive flat top. Wrapped in Connecticut Broadleaf , with a blend heavy that’s heavy on Nicaraguan tobacco, it’s a smoke that fires on all cylinders.
Cars come into play with Flathead’s frontmarks, which are named for engine parts, and the lid, which is easily removed and used it as wall art.
And the girls? Each box comes with a pinup poster that we bet more than a few of you are going to keep.
If you haven’t already seen some of the reviews, we’re getting a great response on Flathead, so check out the specs below and pick up a CAO Flathead at local cigar shop today.

Last year, thousands of you cast your vote to determine the winner of our Last Stick Standing contest.
Well, when all was said and done, the last stick standing was the ‘O’ blend—a spicy, full-bodied, Nicaraguan wrapped cigar that we now introduce to you as The Hurricane.
It measures 6” x 54, comes in boxes of 10 and was produced in limited quantities that won’t last long.
So find your nearest retailer and pick up the Hurricane for yourself. You chose it, after all.
Last year, we launched Concert, a medium-full bodied cigar inspired by our Music City Roots.
Well, people really dig it. It’s gotten high ratings and rave reviews from all over.
And because of that great response, we’ve decided to create the Perfect Harmony Collection, a four-pack featuring Concert’s four sizes−the Roadie (54 ring), Stage (60), Amp (46) and Solo (50) − all for the price of just three cigars.
It also comes with two free coasters featuring artwork inspired by seven of our top selling lines: Concert, Gold, Mx2, La Traviata, OSA, Brazilia and Flavour.
So pick up a pack at your local cigar shop today, light one up and pour your favorite adult beverage.

The tour snaked from coast to coast, from the Carolinas to the Great Lakes to California, and it all, well, ‘wrapped up’ in Scottsdale, AZ on May 4th.
Along the way, Rick met a lot of great people and shared the story behind the legendary La Traviata wrappers.
And he also shared a limited-edition cigar, the Mochado. A rough-cut stick available on the tour only, it was a small version of La Traviata’s Natural and Maduro cigars, except that it was wrapped only ¾ of the way down to the foot. The remaining portion was made of only La Traviata’s coveted binder and filler. This created an intriguing flavor change mid-smoke.
People loved the Mochado and the tour, and we’re thinking about doing something like it again. So stay tuned for upcoming events and other limited-edition cigars.
“It was a great time with some great people. I want to thank everyone who came out to the events and had a chance to share the Mochado with me!” – Rick Rodriguez

Our cigar masters just created a new take on one of our most popular blends.
Rick and his team took our Brazilia blend, added a new wrapper, made the original wrapper the binder, and cranked the whole thing up with more ligero.
The result is the new CAO BraziliaCarnivale — an innovative spin on the original Brazilia and a tribute to one of the world’s wildest parties.
Here are the specs:

We’ve been hinting about an announcement and it’s time we let you in on what’s going on.
General Cigar, our parent company, just announced that a new Cigar World has launched, and we’re pretty excited about it.
We want CAO fans to be the first to know the new site is live.
If you’re not familiar with Cigar World, the site’s been around since the late 90s. It was focused on General Cigar products and promotions, with an active forum. Cigar World has just been totally redone, and it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s like a digital cigar lounge, with cool new stuff like a cigar bomb feature and virtual humidor. It’s even got its own magazine.
There are some great prizes that’ll be given away to celebrate the launch, like a CAO box that was signed by some big names in football during the Super Bowl. We’d like to see one of our guys win it, so go check it out!
We’ll of course still be here on our site, so keep checking in here too.
And if you’re on Twitter, follow Cigar World.
